Do you have information on how to refer to the Peds gender clinic?
Lisa Nadler
38:43
If you don't know where the Sexual Identity and Gender Identity form lives in Maestro or you don't know how to add a preferred name to a patient's record, let me know. We can send out a tip sheet.
Greg Sawin, MD, MPH

Lisa - please do make a tip sheet that highlights some of these important issues and we can post with the slides and enduring material as a resource. We could also send it out with the evaluation link if it can be produced pretty quickly.

we have some clinical protocols that vary for men and women in some conditions. for instance dysuria for a female means staff can sign a UA and pend urine culture. Men with dysuria need provider consult before we would run the UA. I worry that staff may be confused about how to proceed in those protocols while rooming transgender patients.

There is a great article in Annals of Internal Medicine entitled Care of the Transgender Patient from July 2019 I think this link will work: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31261405/
