I'd be interested to hear how DCI is addressing families who have limited connectivity.
how can dci coordinate more with DPS foundation? Is goal of college attendance the only mission difference?
What is dps?
Durham Public Schools
to what extent is the increased learning in math attributed to the virtual vs the parent environment?
What is your “retention rate” in terms of kids who proceed through the program from early age to college?
Good to see you David! I have to hop off for a meeting, but please reach out if EPA’s Community Engagement & STEM Education Program can provide virtual STEM programming (K-12) or mentoring/coaching for DCI high school students. www.epa.gov/rtp-speakers-bureau
What is your growing edge or greatest challenge right now?
amazing work!! can you please talk about the scholarship fund and how important it is to send the kids off with at least $500 in their bank account? and then also how we can donate? :) thanks!

Will do! We'll have a follow up email with this info. Thanks for your interest!
@Haley Allen - Thank you for sharing these contacts. We are excited and a little nervous about getting back into in-person volunteering.
what are Coach qualifications and responsiblities/committments?
Hi David, I completely understand! We feel the same way. We are not planning on doing in-person volunteering until we believe it is completely safe to do so, and are very excited for the day that it finally is!
Please also answer retention rate question above.
It’s a GREAT newsletter!
Laura, Thank you so much for asking! In order to be accepted as a Skills-Based Mentor, you simply need to have a passion for helping students meet their academic and personal goals. We have an application that you can fill out on our volunteer page that will help us identify your skills and interests. If you select that you are interested in being a mentor, I will personally get you matched with a student who is in need of skill set that you have.
Here is the newsletter sign-up! https://dci-nc.org/newsletter/
