I just wanted to let everyone know that Duke (and this our DPC clinics) is participating in the PREVENTABLE trial which is assessing the effects/potential benefits of Lipitor 40mg daily vs placebo in adults 75 and older without known CVD and who have not been on a statin. Outcomes are dementia, persistent disability, and CVD outcomes. Would appreciate your support with this study!

how much granularity is there with the generalized numbers about LDL lowering (such as 33% lowering with statins or Zetia 25% lowering)? what is the range of lowering? (I noticed for case 3 we were hoping for LDL lowering to at least 90 with goal of 70 before adding another medication to get to goal)
